The Host Organization

  • You will volunteer for an Italian NGO working in the southern regions of Cambodia, committed to protecting vulnerable communities through drowning prevention and disaster risk reduction programs. 
  • Their mission is to provide local residents, especially children, with the skills, resources, and knowledge to prevent drowning incidents, while also preparing them for the increasing risks posed by seasonal flooding.

Project Brief

  • Suitable for: University student, Experienced or Retired professional
  • Project type: Unpaid Volunteer project
  • Location: Cambodia, mostly office based with occasional field missions
  • Time commitment : 9am 5pm Monday to Friday
  • Duration: Minimum of 3 months
  • Start date: Project is on-going, and you can join at any time, depending upon availability
  • Reports to: Business Development Manager
Deliverables
  • You will develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for drowning prevention based on secondary sources, including international best practices, with a finalized version ready for implementation. 
  • These SOPs will be instrumental in standardizing the interventions across various regions, improving the overall impact of our work. 
  • Your work  will ensure that Helpcode Cambodia programs are consistent, scalable, and based on best practices.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in English (B2-C1 level), both written and spoken.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Communications, Business, or a related area.
  • Strong policy writing skills
  • Experience in public health or a related field is a bonus
  • Understanding or interest in drowning prevention, climate change, disaster risk reduction

  • Proactivity and self motivation.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good team player.
