Meet Alizee Bousson…

Alizee in Siem Reap.

Alizee is a volunteer from France who came to Siem Reap for a three-month marketing and sales internship at Naga Earth. She is now here to tell us about her time volunteering in Cambodia.

Hi, Alizee! Tell us about the achievement you’re most proud of during your time volunteering in Cambodia.

I felt the most useful for the company when I managed to sell Naga products during meetings!

Do you think this volunteering experience helped your future studies or career?

Yes, this experience helped me of course. It was my first internship and I had the chance to discover a lot of different things which helped me to choose what I would like to do in the future.

What was the thing you enjoyed doing the most during your free time in Cambodia?

I enjoyed spending time with the people I met there. I very much appreciated having the opportunity to go to restaurants and bars with them. Siem Reap is a very good city to have fun in.

Did you experience any kind of problems during your stay?

I was sometimes stressed due to being away from home. It was my first big trip alone, so it was sometimes a little stressful. But I was lucky to almost never feel lonely.

What would be your advice for future volunteers wanting to follow your example?

My advice would be to not listen too much to what people say before leaving for a volunteer term in a country such as Cambodia. There are a lot of clichés and false ideas about this country. The best thing to do is to make one’s own experience!
