Project Brief

  • Location: Siem Reap, Cambodia
  • Duration: Minimum 3 months
  • Start date: Project is on-going, and you can join at any time, depending upon availability
  • Working hours: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm from Monday to Friday
  • Reports to: Communications Manager

Deliverables

  • Conceptualize impactful ways to tell the story of the people and programs at the heart of the hospital
  • Create and oversee graphic design projects from start to finish, through shooting, production, and editing
  • Produce and manage editorial content to support key messages or initiatives for website and socials
  • Assist in supporting and mentoring a small team of in-house local communications staff
  • Monitor engagement levels via communications activities with an end goal of increased support

Requirements

  • Minimum two years of relevant experience in multimedia and digital content production
  • Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts, Communication, Photography, Film/Videography, Journalism, or New Media Production
  • Proven ability to craft compelling stories through a variety of digital media and produce high quality, engaging content, evident through previous work in photo and video production
  • Ability to conduct effective interviews for the purpose of generating meaningful content for stories
  • Proficient in applicable software and computer applications, including Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Photoshop, illustrator, Final Cut, or other editing software
  • Excellent command of both spoken and written English
  • Experience with online platforms including but not limited to WordPress, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, etc. 

Personal qualities and attitudes to be successful in the project

  • Passion for digital and multimedia storytelling, with experience in video and graphic production
  • Team player with strong interpersonal communication skills and the proven ability to work in a collaborative environment; comfortable in a diverse working environment
  • Strong project management skills including planning, execution, and issue resolution
  • Ability to think both creatively and analytically, with a positive attitude

Daily Life

  • You will work with a passionate, multicultural communications team Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, inclusive of a lunch break with co-workers.  On the weekends and public holidays. You will be able to use your free time to explore Siem Reap at your leisure.

  • This project is located at a non-profit, pediatric healthcare organization in the city center of Siem Reap.  For 20 years, the healthcare center has fulfilled its mission of providing high-quality, compassionate healthcare to children in Cambodia.
  • Today, the organization is paving the way for healthcare in the country by providing specialty care and educating the next generation of Cambodian healthcare professionals to international standards

Costs

Please note that this is an unpaid volunteer placement. If successfully accepted for the position, you will be required to pay a project fee and cover your living and travel expenses.  We will guide through each phase of your journey as you move forward.
